The Woongjin Chemical's R&D team in charge of the RO/NF Division is currently involved in a government funded research program entitled the Eco-Star Project. The proejct is headed by I2 Water Tech (Innovation & Integration Water Tech), a Korean NGO that promotes and encourages the development of new and efficient technologies for water treatment.
"The Eco-Star Project is a national research project to improve the quality of life of the people by intensively developing the environment technology (ET) and cultivate ET as the national strategic industry of next generations. Its ultimate purpose is to localize the sewage and wastewater treatment high technology, improve international competitiveness and commercialize high-efficiency, intensive water purification technology." Woongjin Chemical has been involved in the project since level three or year two (December 2008) and will be supplying NF (NE90) membranes for the pilot tests with a capacity of 300 m3/d in August 2009. The goal of the Woongjin Chemical's participation is also to develop high flux NE90. |
