Woongjin Chemical will participate in the 2nd stage of the "EcoStar Project", a project conducted by the Ministry of Environment Korea. Woongjin Chemical will supply next generation nanofiltration products to a demo plant with a capacity of 400 to 500 tons per day. The demo plant is expected to be located at Waterworks Research Institute funded by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The feed water will be from the Han River to produce potable tap water.
The upgraded next generation CSM NF products are capable of eliminating protozoa such as cryptosporidium and giardia, viruses, pesticides with low molecular weight, endocrine disruptures and more. Also, being highly efficient, consumers can enjoy cleaner water at a lower cost. The Ecostar Project is a nationwide project which was formed to expand the R&D of the national water treatment field. The project began in December 2004 and is expected to end in May 2011, with a budget of approximately $6.5 million USD. |
