Dr. Sung-Ro Yoon (phD), who heads the membrane technology division at Woongjin Chemical's R&D Center, was awarded the Engineering of the Month by MoST (Ministry of Science & Technology), KOITA (Korean Industrial Technology Association) & The Daily Economy newspaper. He was recognized for his 21 years of dedication to developing reverse osmosis membranes and cartridge filters for semiconductor rinsing and electronic applications.
Dr. Yoon also succeeded in developing the fouling-resistant reverse osmosis membrane by alternating the physical and chemical characteristics of the membrane surface so that the amount of colloids become lodged or 'fouled' on the membrane surface.
Dr. Yoon is currently in charge of the seawater desalination plant that is conducted by MoCT (Ministry of Construction and Transportation). |
