In 1994, after five years of devoted research & development, Woongjin Chemical succeeded in the commercial production of the reverse osmosis membrane. Demand and applications for the membrane grew ranging from seawater and brackish water desalination, ultrapure water production and wastewater reuse.

In 1998, we began manufacturing micro-filters to become a renowned integrated filter maker with the capabilities of manufacturing a product line that includes membranes for RO (reverse osmosis), NF (nanofiltration), UF (ultrafiltration) and micro-filters. In terms of production capacity, we are placed third largest in the world. The product brand of the fiter business which is CSM is gaining worldwide recognition. In particular, our FRM (fouling resistant membrane) is recognized as having the world's best quality in the wastewater recycling field.
